Civic Culture after Civil War
This design was developed in early stages with Arup Engineers to provide one of the first low energy consumption offices in the Lebanon. 40m high louvered screens on three sides and exposed concrete soffits meant a positive displacement air conditioning system could be used with thermal wheels for added efficiency.

The solar protection also meant simple, clear double glazing could be used on three internal facades. The variety of external spaces between the glazing and the louver walls was fitted with steel grating to support irrigated gardens on all levels. The plants and the louvers would also give ample shading and privacy to the offices. A seismic-rated structure included exposed waffle slab ceilings fitted with lights tailor made by Concord Lighting.
